
Strategic planning, it’s an area of our business we all want secured and mapped out with sound and accurate information.
Here’s what I call the “New Strategic Epoch”. This process is focused on outcome.
Here is how you can produce your outcome with a unique, simple and accurate process.
Once you have obtained your strategic data:
• Vision & Goals
• Objectives and Timing
• Research and Trends
It’s now time to Prioritise. Assemble the above data and set priority markers based on the needs and requirements of your business, products and services.
Then use three criteria filters. For example:
• Key objective
• Timeline
• Financial input
Run your data (information you have gathered and confirmed) through your criteria filters. They can be what’s relevant/critical to your business. Here’s a proven starter. The criteria you set will act as “filters” and when you measure your data against your criteria, such as the above by being brutally honest and methodical, you will end up with a clear plan.
For example:
• What needs to happen
• When it needs to happen
• What is the cost to make it happen
I recommend using a 3 month, 6, month, and 12 month calendar spit. Under each section, construct a “call to action” list that supports your:
• Objectives, that support your
• Goals, that supports your
• Vision
If you follow this process using your criteria, you are already outcome focused and all the information is clearly and succinctly laid out for you that anyone in your organisation can follow and understand.
Your new strategic epoch is ready.
